Chateau de Coppet's fame started in 1784, when it was bought by Jacques Necker, a native of Geneva who was chosen by King Louis XVI of France to be his Finance Minister.
A masterful history lesson on this castle bequeathed to his daughter Mme De Stael.

Self-guided tours also possible.
